H.E. António de Sá Benevides, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Republic of Korea, met with Fr. Noel Go, CEO and President of St. Mary’s International Hospital, in Incheon to discuss opportunities to advance healthcare cooperation and explore ways to facilitate access to quality medical services for Timor-Leste workers in the Republic of Korea.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on practical measures that could facilitate access to medical assistance for Timor-Leste workers seeking treatment at St. Mary’s International Hospital, while strengthening communication and coordination between relevant healthcare institutions.
Ambassador Benevides expressed his appreciation to Fr. Noel Go and St. Mary’s International Hospital for their openness and willingness to support Timor-Leste workers and to explore opportunities for further cooperation with hospitals and healthcare institutions in Timor-Leste.
The discussions also addressed possible areas of future collaboration, including medical cooperation, professional exchanges, training and capacity building, and the sharing of medical knowledge and expertise. Such initiatives have the potential to contribute to strengthening healthcare capacity in Timor-Leste and improving access to quality medical services.
Fr. Noel Go welcomed the opportunity to deepen engagement with Timor-Leste and expressed support for exploring practical and sustainable initiatives that could assist Timor-Leste workers while fostering closer cooperation between healthcare institutions in Timor-Leste and the Republic of Korea.
Ambassador Benevides emphasized the importance of developing sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in the healthcare sector. He welcomed the constructive exchange as a positive step towards advancing practical collaboration between Timor-Leste and the Republic of Korea.
Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to maintain dialogue and explore concrete opportunities for cooperation between St. Mary’s International Hospital and hospitals and healthcare institutions in Timor-Leste.
The meeting marked a constructive step towards strengthening healthcare cooperation, expanding institutional engagement, and promoting greater access to quality medical services for Timor-Leste nationals, while contributing to the broader friendship and cooperation between Timor-Leste and the Republic of Korea.
