SEOUL — The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in the Republic of Korea is honoured to participate in the ASEAN Panorama Exhibition 2026, held at the ASEAN Hall of the Korea Press Center from 1 to 25 July 2026. The exhibition offers the Korean public and the international community an opportunity to discover the beauty and diversity of Timorese culture.
As part of its ongoing commitment to cultural diplomacy, Timor-Leste is featured with a dedicated exhibition zone at this year’s ASEAN Panorama. The curated space presents an exquisite selection of traditional handicrafts and cultural artifacts that embody the nation’s profound cultural identity, artistic heritage, and exceptional craftsmanship. Through this participation, the Embassy aims to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Timor-Leste, the Republic of Korea, and the ASEAN member states.
A Ceremony Marked by Distinguished Guests
The official opening ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E. Ambassador António de Sá Benevides, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Republic of Korea, accompanied by Mr. Hugo Immanuel Garcia, First Secretary; Ms. Octavia Soares, Justice Attaché; Mr. Feliciano Mendonça Simões, Labor Attaché; and Mrs. Dircia Ricardo of Pusan National University.
The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Kim Jae-shin, Secretary-General of the ASEAN–Korea Centre, alongside the Ambassadors of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Republic of the Philippines, as well as esteemed representatives of the ASEAN–Korea Centre.
